Shoe Boxes for Kids

Consider creating a shoebox to donate through Shoe Boxes for Kids. (This is not connected with Samaritan’s Purse but operates similarly.) Boy and girl Boxes are need for ages 0-2 years, 2-5 years, 5-8 years, and children ages 8 and up. Items to place in the boxes may include crayons, books, small toys, stuffed animals, and candy that will not melt. This would be a great prject for children who need help understanding this tragedy.

You can find a list of drop-off locations HERE which is updated daily and is expanding to include several states. You can sign up to be a drop-off location or get more details by EMAILING THEM.

Need more ideas? How about sunglasses, cap, hat, bangles, necklaces, toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, comb, hair clips, bar of soap, pens, pencils, pencil sharpener, eraser, colouring book, notepad, picture or puzzle book, chalk, pencil case, stickers, tennis ball, finger puppet, jigsaw, yo-yo, building blocks, small musical instrument, trucks and cars, dolls, clip on earrings, etc.

NOTE: Toomers for Tuscaloosa is trying to help all areas changed by the tornadoes and not just Tuscaloosa.
