Learning to Listen

Wouldn’t it be amazing if our children were born with the ability to listen? It would be even more awesome if after listening they would follow through and do what we asked. Can you imagine if there was a game that could teach them this skill?

Well… there is!

The Noodleboro Pizza Palace Listening Game is one of my children’s favorite games and I love it too because it is built around listening comprehension. Not only do the children have to hear what you say but they have to apply your request to action.

There are several ways to play this game but we primarily use it in a very simple format:
1) Each child has an empty pizza and an assortment of tokens which display various pizza toppings.
2) I tell the children what I want on my pizza.
3) They create the pizza and deliver it to me.

The toppings are a very strange assortment but makes it more fun than just ordering a pizza with pepperoni and mushrooms. Instead, you can ask for a soccer ball, smelly socks, or even fossils on your pizza. It makes for a very fun (and laughter-filled) afternoon.
