So, last week was our first week and I am already making changes to our homeschool schedule.
Trying to have Social Studies and Science while the two youngest children are down for nap is not working for me. I need some downtime in order to stay sane, not to mention I have blogging to do. But, it is not just that. Lira and Franc need some time to unwind too. Pushing Social Studies and Science off until later in the day will not work since once public school starts Bill will be coming in around 3 PM in the afternoons for a few hours before breezing out again.
Think, think, think.
So, here is new plan for our homeschool schedule.
Typically in the past, Fridays have been for Spelling tests and then a trip to PennyMom’s house. Since PennyMom is not able to keep the kiddos on Fridays anymore, I think we will have the Spelling test and then devote the rest of the day to Social Studies and Science.
This might not work… but it is worth a try. And that is the point of this post, dear friends. If something is not working, change it! Don’t feel bound by what someone else is doing. Find what fits your family and go with that because trying to force something will inhibit learning. Be free!
