Do It Yourself Costume Ideas

Let’s talk about frugal, do-it-yourself costumes. I was able to find a ton on Pinterest! Here are a few of my favorites:

Who can resist a big bowl of spaghetti with meatballs? Not me! (from Comics for Nerds)

This one from Nerd Nirvana might be a bit over-the-top for your church fall festival but it would be great for a laugh!

Oh, how easy this would be! I love the “raining cats and dogs” ideas from Babble.

And… I think this might be what we choose for next year…

The Flintstones!!!

    Hi Penny,

What fabric did you use for the red “bra”? I love the idea!!

I have not actually tried that but it looks like just a cotton fabric. You could probably find something with some stretch in the clearance section of the fabric store and that would work great!

This would be GREAT for a Breast Cancer event. The bra looks like it was just altered camis… put on, take one strap off and fold under. :D

My boys were Thing One and Thing Two, and it was so easy.
    Red sweatshirts and sweatpants.
A beanie hat, or similar hat, with a blue boa hot glued to it.
A piece of felt with sticky backing cut into a circle with Thing One or Thing Two written in Magic Marker, then the felt goes onto the front of the sweatshirt.
The cost for both costumes was $27.
And they were so incredibly cute, and really warm.

I bet that was so cute. I have been thinking about doing a Dr. Seuss theme one year. I might have to snatch these ideas. Thanks, Jennifer.
