This is an odd time of day for me to publish a new post but I have an important challenge to pass along.
Yesterday, I spent a lot of time evaluating my life… my Christian life. We received some stunning news that proved even those we perceive to be the strongest Christians can fall… and fall HARD. My husband and I huddled close, texting throughout the day and spending a quiet evening together. Our hearts are broken, but even more so, I think we are scared.
If someone so profound in guiding and leading us in our Christian walk can fall prey to sin, where does that leave us?
So, I am committed to focusing my heart. How? First, by reading the most important book I can, the Bible, daily. I used to soak in the words from the Bible like water. Then, I became a mom and my time was very compressed. I am not sure why but I gave up on the most important aspect of my day.
Investing in the road less traveled
Next, I will be investing in resources by other Christians who have walked the path, found the pitfalls, and lived to tell about it. I have the Ultimate Christian Living Bundle and plan to actually READ these books.
There is no way I could afford to purchase all of these books at one time except through the Ultimate Christian Living Bundle. Over $1100 in ebooks and courses (not to mention the bonus offers) for only $34.95.
But, we have to actually READ the books.
How often do you purchase an ebook bundle and not read the books? Just me? I didn’t think so. So, let’s do this… let’s purchase this inexpensive bundle of amazing Christian resources and commit to reading at least ONE of the books each month.
Which one will be your starting place? The business side of me is drawn to the books on working and budgeting as a Christian, but I think I really need to start with Equipped for Effectiveness in Spiritual Warfare by Al Pittman, Extraordinary Grace by Gary Chapman & Chris Fabry, or Relationships for Life by Richard Marks, PhD.
And I am choosing one of the devotionals to use in the mornings alongside my time in the Bible. I will either start with This God We Serve by Rev. William J. Morford or Mornings with Tozer by A.W. Tozer… because who wouldn’t love to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee with Tozer?!
I am trying to decide and would love your insight. Check out the full list and then come back and leave a comment, please.
An invitation to accountability
Finally, let’s commit to accountability.
As we live in a world dominated by sin, we need one another in order to stay true to what we know is right. Sometimes, the lines get blurred by society and by clinging to one another and committing to learn together, we can make wiser choices.
If you have not already joined our private Facebook group for imperfect moms (and feel that you fit that category), I would love to have you. Please request to join and I will add you to the group the next time I am online.
This is not a place for the self-righteous. If you have your life together and know all the answers, I kindly ask you to find a different accountability group. Being Mom is for those of us who have not figured out all of life’s mysteries. We have really bad days and need a place to vent where we will not be judged. We are looking for friendships beyond our immediate community.
If that sounds like you, join us at Being Mom.
