With parties and plays, this Christmas tree braid is the perfect hairstyle for girls. Besides, every little girl wants to look like a princess, even if she normally wears jeans under her tutu with her dirty sneakers.
EZDO Christmas Tree Braid Kit Review
When Lori asked me to review the Christmas Tree Braid Kit, I was immediately anxious.
Since I am not a crafty mom and a “fancy” hairstyle on my girls is a low ponytail that may or may not last the entire school day. Besides, my girls barely let me touch their hair to even brush it.
What comes in the Christmas Tree Braid Kit?
Inside the Christmas Tree Braid Kit, you will receive:
- 1 – gold star hair ornament (It has a floral look that would work well for other seasons too.)
- 9 – silver and pearl hair ornaments (Absolutely gorgeous!)
- Green ribbon
- Several plastic hair bands
- Step-by-step photo tutorial
The elegant detail of the ornament designs is not clearly represented by the Amazon store page. I thought they were rosettes or pom poms when I glanced at the picture. I was very wrong!
These pieces are gorgeous. I am planning to put them in my hair as soon as I have an event where I will not look overdressed.
Plus, you could easily use the ornament pieces for other hairstyles.
Can I lazy mom make this look decent?
I spent a little time checking all of the tutorial videos at Hair By Lori but knew that two french braids would be a disaster for me. Ariary’s hair is super silky and thin but she has a lot of it. Braids tend to slip out of her hair easily.
I decided to pull the front of her hair back into a ponytail and then divide it into two braids. As I started weaving the ribbon through the braids, it was difficult to keep the distance from being pulled tight.
So, I divided the bottom of her hair into two equal parts and attached the braids making two ponytails. The braids resembled an upside-down V.
When I started weaving the ribbon through the braids again, the distance held much better and the Christmas tree design could be seen.
At the top of the point, I gently twisted the star ornament into place. It went in so easily that I thought for certain it would be a tangled mess then I took them out later, but I twisted the rest of the ornaments into place.
The finished result was stunning. I couldn’t believe how beautiful it was… and that I had done it myself!
And, to my surprise, the ribbon and all of the ornaments were simple (and painless) to remove.
My only issue with the kit is with the plastic hair bands. I am sure they work very well on different hair types but did not hold tightly on Ariary’s silky hair. I will probably buy some non-slip ponytail holders to use instead.
