Today, I want to share a little list of the things I MUST HAVE for homeschooling. While most of these are very basic, some of them are the result of having four children.

OK, I LOVE your blog, it’s my new favorite (since I just found it recently.) I feel like we were separated at birth, we have so much in common, down to the ages of our kids. The only difference is my 3yo is twins so I have 2 of them:) And I agree with your list, mostly. But since I laminate just about everything (I buy my laminating pages at harbor freight when they’re on sale, so they’re pretty cheap) I don’t really use many page protectors. I think I would replace that with a tire swing! Get those kids OUTSIDE as much as the weather permits, but when that doesn’t work we have the KINDLE FIRE!!!! Love it, at least I’m not the only one that uses it, and yes it’s educational so that’s ok, right? But seriously, this is a great post and I can’t wait to see the post about organization!!!!
LOL. We have a tire swing too! If it didn’t get so hot so fast around here, the kids would be outside RIGHT NOW. Part of the reason we school year-round is because most of our summer is spent indoors.
Oh, and can I just say that you are a BETTER WOMAN than me? Twins? I would die. I can barely handle one at a time. 😉
Oh trust me, it’s not that I’m better, it’s because I’m lacking. God has been trying to teach me patients and gentleness for most of my life. When I wasn’t learning it one kid at a time, God said, “let me show you something, we’ll try it by two’s!” haha! (He does have quite the since of humor!) Twins aren’t as bad as everyone thinks, it’s just an adjustment (like with any new addition) when they’re little they slow you down because it takes twice as long to do everything. Now that they’re bigger they speed me up, because if I don’t keep up with them they’ll tear the house down around me! lol They really are a bundle of energy, but with twice the love and cuddles, so it’s worth it!
Loved the post and completely agree. I’m really interested in your upcoming organization blog. I would add my dry erase board though. We use it for everything from discipline marks, praise reports, spelling words, math problems (for some reason math is easier and way more fun when kids can do it on the board), daily goals. You get the point. We use it constantly.
Yes! Did you notice that I had to sneak in our reversible art easel from Melissa & Doug. Picking just TEN items was so hard. If I could pick 100… but that would be a really long video. LOL

My top ten would be:
1) My Bible
2) My laptop: it gives me access to really great websites! (And I am using your excuse and bundling my printer, paper and ink into this category.)
3) Library card, self-explanatory. Also it gives us free access to local cultural sites with the Cultural Pass!
4) White board
5) Colored pencils and LOTS of paper because my kids LOVE to draw!
6) Backyard, invaluable in getting the energy spent so they can concentrate.
7) Puzzles and games
8) Educational videos and CDs
9) Binders, page protector and file folders to keep me semi-organized
10) Wish I had a Kindle Fire, but alas not yet. 😉 Number ten would have to be a sense of humor. Absolutely necessary when educating your children at home!
Oh and this list comes from a homeschooling mama of three, ages 9,8 and 4 🙂
I LOVE your number TEN. A sense of humor is an absolute must. As you can tell, I have a healthy dose of crazy and it helps me make it through each day. 😀
I want to hear more about the well planned day planner. I am considering buying it but I don’t want to buy it if I’m not going to use it! It looks great in the online viewing of it. Pros & cons??

I had a lot of fun writing out my top 10 last night. I had to laugh a minute in your video when you call the Kindle out for what it is…we don’t have a Kindle for our homeschooling, but we have kind of confiscated my husband’s iPad for much the same purpose!
