My time at the Titus 2:1 Conference was amazing. While it is hard to boil everything I learned down to one blog post, here are the top ten things buzzing in my brain today ~
1. The Washington Dulles airport is a giant maze and I am a tiny mouse. If you have been there, you know what I mean.
2. Avatars can talk. Well, not exactly, but the first day at conference, I truly felt like these profile pictures I had looked at for the last couple of years had come to life and were speaking to me. It was a very strange sensation.
3. You do not have to know someone to KNOW someone. I had known quite a few of these ladies online but never met them face to face until this weekend. How blessed I was to discover that they are exactly as they say they are. It was like hugging a sister.
4. I am not an oddball. Okay… so maybe I am an oddball but there are other oddballs out there just like me. I often feel like an outsider here in the heat and humidity because there is no one like me (that does what I do ~ blogging, homeschooling, believing, hoping) within hundreds of miles. Now, I know that there are other unicorns and they are beautiful.
5. Rachel loves Philippians and desperately wants an iPhone. Bless her sweet heart.
6. My husband makes the best coffee in the world. I never have to make my own coffee. My adorable husband brings me a cup each morning. So, when I had to make my own cup… well… let’s just say I added too much sugar and had a mug full of syrup.
7. Homeless people need to be loved in every city. I am praying for my new friend, Maria, and those who need to have softened hearts.
8. Planes are unbelievably scary when the power goes out… even when they are on the ground.
9. Next year, take your GOOD camera. I was afraid of going through airport security with my Canon DSLRÂ and took my small, not so great… turned out to be TERRIBLE… camera. My pictures are so sad. If you got pictures of me, please let me know. Thanks!
10. God heard me and answered me. My head was full of voices that were not from God and I think some of the ladies who spoke must have read my post because the first two messages were just for me. I am beloved.
My thanks to…
- my mystery sponsor who paid for my ticket. God bless you.
- Jamerrill, who kindly let me share her room. I love your sweet spirit.
- the wonderful sponsors who made the 2:1 Conference possible: Bright Ideas Press, WriteShop, Apologia, Classical Conversations, Â HSLDA, HEAV, Home Educating Family, The Homeschool Lounge, Grapevine Studies, All About Learning, and New Blog Hosting.
- and, to Cheryl Pitt for her amazing vision to make it happen.

LOL about the avatars talking, yes! I’m so glad you came and that we had some time to connect. I wish I’d grought a decent camera too, but I wouldn’t have had time to use it. I think I only took two pictures all weekend.
Hearing that you were blessed by 2:1 makes all the work and worry worth it. Yes, you are worthy, you are beloved.
Loved meeting you! You were so much fun to be around. It truly was an amazing conference.
It was nice meeting you! You’re a really fun, sweet, person! I met so many wonderful ladies who not only love, but are on fire for the Lord and hopefully made a few friends.
It was WONDERFUL to MEET YOU and be your friend! I think the conference was excellent and hope we can room together again next year.
That airport just about killed me. I had a backpack and a duffel bag, and on the way home, it was WAY too heavy. I woke up Monday morning with back pain and my back is STILL horribly sore. Miserable!
My husband brings me coffee! I homeschool and just went to a conference last week. I blog – well I’m learning right now… Attempting to learn to coupon and grocery shop frugally… I think we might have a lot in common!
I also have a hard time finding anyone like me. 🙂 It’s nice to ‘meet’ you!
Following you…
Amy, if you tell me that you live in Mobile, AL, I might think I am talking to my twin. 😉
Rats! I can’t be your twin… I live in MO. 🙂
Thanks for posting the Kindle books. I snagged a couple of those.
Well, if you are ever vacationing on the Gulf, we will have to connect… just to see. 😉
It was so great to see you at 2:1!! What a blessing it was to gather with like-minded “oddballs!”
LOL. I know that probably wasn’t a compliment to some but I meant it as one. 😉
I want that picture of you and me!
Oh, I mean…
I love this post because it mentions a lot of things I was thinking, like avatars talking and hugging sisters! When I got back, someone wanted to know if many of the women were catty. I said, “Nope. Everyone was really nice!” Isn’t that such a blessing, to be in a room of over a hundred women, and they’re all nice!? I had a fabulous weekend, and I’m thankful to your mystery sponsor, too.
I need to email you that pic. It turned out kind of grainy. As I said, wish I had brought the good camera. LOL
I actually enjoyed NOT lugging around a camera — which is a big change for me from prior conferences I’ve attended. I didn’t get a lot of pictures with me and other folks, but it was worth the trade off for me, not to have to worry about keeping up with it.
This is a great wrap up! Hope to see you again soon!
It was so awesome to meet you, Dianna. Can’t wait to see some pics of the new baby. 🙂
