There may be some other foods you want to consider buying organic:
1) Meat ~ Primarily beef. We may not be able to afford organic every time I go to the store but I will aim to get the leaner cuts of beef, chicken and pork and whill remove the excess fat when preparing it. Why remove the fat? It is more than a calorie issue. Animals store most of the pesticides and hormones they absorb within their fat tissues. Gross, but true.
2) Milk ~ Our WIC milk will be the regular stuff but what I personally pay for out of my own pocket will be organic. This is probably the hardest commitment for me to make since we go through a LOT of milk. But, do I really want my children drinking glasses full of hormones and antibiotics three to four times a day?
3) Coffee ~ This is a call for Bill to make. He is the coffee lover in our house. I rarely drink the stuff. But, if you are a coffee lover too, you should know that most countries where our coffee supply is grown do not have regulations on the amount of pestivides used. Yuck!
