Recently, Joanna posted this picture to our Facebook community wall.
She took the idea of Homeless Blessing Bags to Placentia & Yorba Linda Presbyterian Churches and they decided to make the gifts as a Women’s Retreat service project. The desire was to create 100 Blessing Bags in honor of four homeless men who were killed in a senseless tragedy. For one month, they collected donations with community, church and business support. When the project was complete, the ladies ended up having enough donations to create 300 bags!
I need to say this… I am completely humbled that God could use me in this way. I am such a flawed person. I just cannot even imagine that on the other side of the country, God is feeding homeless people because of an idea I shared on these pages.
When our family first went to the store to purchase items to make Homeless Blessing Bags, I felt like eight bags was such a tiny offering. I was almost embarrassed that we were doing so little. Now, I think I understand how the little boy who gave Jesus his two fish and five loaves must have felt. The Lord blessed the food and multiplied the offering, feeding five thousand.
My prayer is that many people will be blessed from the little offerings I share here on this blog. Your true stories are such an encouragement to me.
Thank you, Joanna, for sharing this testimony. I am stunned beyond words. May God pour out His goodness on you and your community.
