I have a confession to make. I stink at skip counting by nine. I have figured out how to hide my problem but when it comes to teaching my child, I want her to learn to do it correctly. So, this week, when the dreaded moment came that Lira needed to count forward and backward by nines, I went scrambling for a way to show her how to think it out.

But, what I lack in intelligence, I make up for in creativity. I spotted this idea on Pinterest for making patterns out of the 100-Chart. Immediately, I knew this would be a fun activity for Lira and made up a few patterns for her to play with. (You can print those out for free below.)
You can use an interactive 100-chart online or print it out and let your child color it.
Another fun math activity I created was an addition worksheet. Place it in a page protector and use a dry erase marker. Allow your child to roll the dice and fill in the numbers. Then, they work the problem.
There was only one issue with the design of this game. If the second number rolled is larger than the first number, the sum would be negative. So, Lira and I figured out that you would roll the dice twice and then put the larger number first.
Another solution would be to have two dice. One with numbers 1 to 6 and another with numbers 7 through 12. The dice with the larger number would be rolled for the first blank and the smaller for the second.
I used a free dice generator to make mine and then used packing tape to “laminate” it.
