4 Free Apps to Increase Attention and Task Management

Share & Help Me Grow

One of the greatest benefits I have found in buying my husband an iPad is the abundance of apps that can actually help him manage his Attention Deficit Disorder symptoms. Simple apps like Reminders and Camera, as well as games like Chess and Solitaire, equip him to pay more attention and stay on task.

The purpose of using Reminders is obvious and the camera helps him to snap an image to remember something for later or to communicate with me what he cannot describe with words. Chess and Solitaire help him with planning and focus.

However, in addition to these simple applications, there are more available that really enable him to be more self-disciplined despite the ADD.

4 free apps for attention and time management - perfect for adults with adhd

anylist

AnyList — Grocery Shopping List & Recipes – Purple Cover, Inc.

AnyList is created for making a shopping list to keep yourself organized at the grocery store. We actually have a list for quick trips (which I sync between my iPad and his iPad) so he can stop by the store on the way home and other lists for packing, home improvement projects, and more.

mindmeister

MindMeister (mind mapping) – MeisterLabs

Since my husband has a difficult time setting a sequence of what is necessary to accomplish his tasks and goals, MindMeister helps him picture what needs to be done first with mind maps. He can create mind maps for anything and the visual gives him a lot of clarity.

lumosityLumosity – Lumos Labs, Inc.

I actually use Lumosity for myself too. If you want a way to increase your attention to detail, brain speed, or memory, you can use Lumosity for daily exercises. The best thing about Lumosity is that you can set the areas where you need improvement and the daily exercises target your weaknesses.

303030/30 – Binary Hammer

This app could help anyone with time management… even me. 30/30 gives you the ability to set your tasks and the amount of time you want to spend and synchronize it with a timer. You can plan your entire day or just divide your one hour task into pieces so you do not lose track of time.

Do you have a favorite app for building attention or making better use of your time?

About Tabitha

Hi! I'm Tabitha! But, I bet you expected someone named "Penny." Long story made short, Penny is the coupon binder I started in 2010 when we were totally broke... as in BANKRUPT. Now, as a mom of five, I make 6-figures a year working at home and share ways to help you move from penny to profit while you raise a family with sense on cents.
