Saving at Rite Aid and Supercenters

Share & Help Me Grow

[As always, keep in mind that store policies can vary from street to street and city to city. Please verify your store’s policies before assuming that it matches these suggestions.]

Have you been learning any new tips and tricks to shave more money from your grocery bills? I hope so! Remember, if you missed a day of the Advanced Penny Pinching series, the links are posted on the Online Class under the Welcome tab at the top of the page.

Rite Aid

Breathe a sigh of relief! There is nothing tricky about transactions at Rite Aid that we have not already covered by looking at CVS since the +UP Rewards are very similar to the ECBs at CVS. If you need to review the coupon policy for Rite Aid, I recommend the Online Coupon Workshop.

With Rite Aid, however, comes a new rule…

Penny Pincher’s Rule #3: Always apply for your rebates immediately! But you are so busy when you get home and oh so tired and oh… Yeah, yeah. Can I tell you how much money I have lost from expired rebates due to those excuses? Get online, fill out the form, put it in an envelope, stamp it, mail it, whatever you have to do to apply for the rebate… IMMEDIATELY!

You can MAKE MONEY using SCRs at Rite Aid. Just follow through by applying for the SCRs.

Target

Target is pretty simple. If you remember to check for store coupons and stack them with your Manufacturer’s coupons, you will be saving your maximum. There is only one other situation where you could save more and that is if they have a special savings situation where if you purchase a specific product or combination or products, you will receive a gift card. If a gift card is available on an item you are purchasing, do this as a separate transaction first and play for the second transaction with the gift card.

Please note that some Target stores have started refusing the immediate use of the gift card incentive. Be sure to read the fine print on any gift card offer before contesting the store’s policy.

Walmart

You must keep a price book in order to save at Walmart! Remember that this “Low Price Leader” very rarely hosts rock-bottom sales prices on anything. Keep a price book and shop using the price per unit.

Also, be prepared to price match any advertisements to save even more at Walmart and check to see if there are any deviations to the corporate policy at your local store.

At ANY supercenter, stay away from endcaps and open displays that boast a deal. Keep in mind that you cannot tell if an item is a good buy when it is removed from similar products.

Do you have any special tricks that you use at these stores?

About Tabitha

Hi! I'm Tabitha! But, I bet you expected someone named "Penny." Long story made short, Penny is the coupon binder I started in 2010 when we were totally broke... as in BANKRUPT. Now, as a mom of five, I make 6-figures a year working at home and share ways to help you move from penny to profit while you raise a family with sense on cents.
