My children are finally old enough that I can have a little fun on April Fool’s Day and I am kind of bummed that it is falling on a Sunday. So, here is my plan ~ Celebrate early. At least a little bit. I will serve the April Fool’s Day breakfast and lunch on Friday, and we will prepare our “tricks” and do our school on Friday too. The dinner will wait until Sunday.
Breakfast is served
What’s on our menu? Ostrich Eggs and Toast.
What is it really? A puddle of vanilla yogurt with a peach halve (upside down) on top and a side of toasted angel food cake.
Time for School
I was able to find some awesome printable packs for FREE. No joking.

- April Fool’s Day Mini Joke Unit (printable)
- April Fool’s Day Activity Packet (printable)
Lunch time
I keeping it somewhat tame for lunch because I want to save up my best stuff for dinner.
What’s on our menu? Octopus and goldfish
What is it really? Spaghetti pushed through pieces of hotdog and then boiled, served with goldfish crackers. I’ll sneak in some peas too.
Let’s get Daddy!
After lunch, we will get prepared for Daddy. When he gets home from work, the children will offer him some Brown-eee’s. And, when he giggles at those, we will pull out the real snack… Sponge cupcakes.
The dinner bell
When dinner time rolls around, we are going to make our own monster-face pizzas. I thought about the meatloaf cake with mashed potatoes icing but they won’t eat it and they need something nutritious on their tummies before dessert. COMPOST CAKE!
This is going to be too much fun!
