Cassie and Caleb & Parenting with Scripture

Share & Help Me Grow

Teaching your children Biblical character? Cassie & Caleb and Parenting with Scripture are excellent resources. #MommyTimeParty Giveaway 5/14-5/24

When I was contacted by Moody Publishing about there newest releases, Cassie and Caleb Discover God’s Wonderful Design and Parenting with Scripture, I knew these would be GOOD. Maybe I am a little biased towards the books Moody Publishers print because I tend to love everything they produce.

Cassie and Caleb Discover God’s Wonderful Design

Teaching your children Biblical character? Cassie & Caleb and Parenting with Scripture are excellent resources. #MommyTimeParty Giveaway 5/14-5/24

In this delightful book, children will learn the truth of Scripture while finding that Scripture is very relevant today. Children will gain an understanding of Christian worldview… even though they might not know what a worldview is.

The colorful illustrations are perfect for visual learners, and you could easily take these stories and use them to create real experiences for your kinesthetic learners.

Although targeted for ages 5 to 8, I think this book would be applicable up to age 10.

Parenting with Scripture: A Topical Guide for Teachable Moments

Teaching your children Biblical character? Cassie & Caleb and Parenting with Scripture are excellent resources. #MommyTimeParty Giveaway 5/14-5/24

Bill and I have always tried to encourage our children to obedience with Scripture. Our ultimate goal is to raise children who love the Lord, serve Him, and have a firm understanding of why they believe what they believe. With Parenting with Scripture, you can take the moments when your child is being good (or bad) and turn those situations into lessons that will build Biblical character and comprehension.

Parenting with Scripture is constructed to include a virtue or characteristic, the corresponding Scripture, discussion points, and a way to put learning into action. Some of the topics include parental tips too.

About Tabitha

Hi! I'm Tabitha! But, I bet you expected someone named "Penny." Long story made short, Penny is the coupon binder I started in 2010 when we were totally broke... as in BANKRUPT. Now, as a mom of five, I make 6-figures a year working at home and share ways to help you move from penny to profit while you raise a family with sense on cents.

The most difficult part of being a Godly parent is being patient and controlling my emotions when disciplining, I think.

Consistency is my hard point. I find that I’m trying to teach my children what I’m also trying to learn. And that’s pretty humbling. :S

The most difficult part of being a godly parent is when I lose my temper. It just kills the “godly” part out of “godly parent.” They know I need God because I’m not all put together. I don’t like to be leading from my brokenness.

The most difficult thing is in setting an example, especially when things are going wrong. It gets easier with experience and spending more time with God.

The most difficult part of being a godly parents is that I don’t consistently turn to scripture (at this time) when misbehaviors occur. Honestly, I don’t always speak in a gentle way and I am not always modeling good character traits. I need to remember to trust in the Lord.

The hardest part about being a godly parent for me is just staying God-centered/Christ-focused ALL the time. My carnal self (lazy, selfish, impatient) is always getting in the way. I want to reflect Jesus in everything I do, so my children can see Him working through me and be drawn to Him.

I try to keep Proverbs 15:1 at the forefront of my mind. “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.”
