Our shopping trips will never be featured on a reality television show because we live really busy lives and have to make couponing work for us despite our crazy schedules and responsibilities.
Each week, my goal is to keep our grocery budget at $600 a month for our family of six. I use coupons and buy in quantities to have a stock pile that will last us through to the next sales cycle, but more than anything, I coupon like I am living in the REAL world.
Where did we shop?
Winn Dixie
I spent the majority of our budget this week at Winn Dixie. Our local store does not double coupons but I can use two coupons for each BOGO (buy one, get one free).
We purchased everything in the pictures above for a total of $129.31.
Savings: $129.69 (Almost 50% to the penny!)
Fuelperks! earned: $0.15 per gallon
If you are wondering where I got my coupons, everything was from an online coupon website except for a coupon I received for a free half gallon of International Delight Iced Coffee.
Local Produce Stand
It has been a while since I stopped by our local produce shop and since it was under new ownership, I thought I would see what they had going.
The biggest bargains were a 3 pound bag of onions for $0.99 and carrots for $0.50 a bag.
Total spent at the produce stand was $6.37.
Walmart
Bill was a super-sweet guy and went by Walmart to pick up cat food, bread, milk, eggs, bananas, and grapes since the weekend left us depleted in these areas. He was without coupons but only spent $32.40.
Monthly Budget Totals (so far)
Week One total: $168.08
Budget remaining: $431.92
