This week, I added a listening center to our homeschool. It was very simple.
All you need is a CD or cassette player (with a headphone jack) and audio books. If I want to spend some time alone with one of the children, I can put another child on a beanbag or quilt in our little library, listening to a great book. If I need some time to use the restroom, I can let all the children participate together. If another child is distracted by the audio book and cannot work, I plug in the headphones.
When I want the child to visit the listening center during our homeschool time, I just put a card in their workbox, telling them where to go.
Audio books can be found at your library or purchased to start your own library.
