Best Creative Gift Ideas for Teachers

Share & Help Me Grow

Whether it is Teacher Appreciation Week or Christmas, it can be difficult to come up with creative gift ideas for your child’s teacher.

Great way to brainstorm meaningful teacher's gifts

Teacher’s Gift Idea #1 ~ Gift Card

When Lira was in Kindergarten, she attended public school and I was the room mother. I can tell you from that experience that teachers love to receive items for their rooms since funding for these splurges are often severely limited or they have to be paid out of pocket. So, consider taking up a collection and purchase the teacher a gift card to Discount School Supply.

Teacher’s Gift Ideas #2 ~ One a Day Jar

How about filling a jar with a piece of candy for each day through the end of the year? Attach a note that says,

One A Day ~ End of the Year Countdown

The teacher will know when he or she reaches the bottom that the school year is nearing an end. At the bottom of the container, put a little note expressing your appreciation for the hard work they put into the school year and wishes for a restful summer.

Christmas appreciation thank you inexpensive gifts for teachers

Teacher’s Gift Ideas #3 ~ Personality Gifts

Think about what the teacher likes.

For the beach babe ~ Tuck a beach towel, sunscreen and some cute flip-flops into a beach tote stamped with a cute ocean theme by your child?

For the earth mother ~ Put together a caddy of gardening tools and seeds.  Don’t forget a bar of gentle soap, lotion and a pair of gardening gloves. Or, simplify this gift by giving a beautiful watering can. You could even include a note about how she planted seeds in fertile, young minds… or something equally corny.

For the caffeine enthusiast ~ Go beyond the coffee mug and stock the teacher with gourmet coffee beans, a coffee grinder, chocolate-covered expresso beans, and a large bar of dark chocolate. You could even put in a collection of teas or soft drinks. This would be super cute tucked into a brown basket lined with mocha-colored tissue paper.

And, for the teacher who protected your child from germs all year ~ Gather up some tissues, anti-bacterial lotion, disinfectant wipes, Lysol spray, and Airborne, wrapping it all in a box decorated like a first aid kit.

About Tabitha

Hi! I'm Tabitha! But, I bet you expected someone named "Penny." Long story made short, Penny is the coupon binder I started in 2010 when we were totally broke... as in BANKRUPT. Now, as a mom of five, I make 6-figures a year working at home and share ways to help you move from penny to profit while you raise a family with sense on cents.
