The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
~John 10:10
Life is extraordinary but Jesus didn’t come so that it would be boring.
The realtor comes this afternoon and things should slow down a little, but these last several days have been a whirlwind. Since deciding to put our house on the market, I have spent my days de-cluttering eight years of living. As I cleaned out closets, I was stunned by the amount of clothes given to us. Overwhelmed by the toys our children have received. Hand-me-downs generously offered. God’s way of providing for the needs and desires of our children.
We contacted our insurance agent who was able to price a policy $1,500 a year cheaper than the policy selected by the mortgage company. This will make the deficit in our escrow account $3,000 less than the current adjustment. Some Facebook friends have asked if this will be enough to let us remain in our home. Right now, we are not sure what difference that will make in our monthly payment, but we realize that each year, insurance will continue to increase and this will constantly push our payments higher and higher. If we persist with the sale of our home, there is a possibility (God willing) that we will clear enough money to come away debt-free.
I was able to list a huge amount of clothing which the children have outgrown as well as kitchen items that I didn’t use very often on the Secondhand Sisterhood and made over $500 in one week. I was able to use this money to pay our utility bills and to purchase the items needed to do some home improvements to prepare the house for sale. We were also blessed by a benefit auction hosted by Jellybean Boutiques which raised over $80. That money is safely tucked away for March.
March…
It is so strange for the future to be so uncertain. Bill and I want to sit down and make a plan but it is incredibly difficult. We literally are living day to day, just waiting for God to give us our instructions for the next 24 hours. But TODAY, we have everything we need.
Have you ever been in a place where you could not see where your next step would fall?

Right now! Due to lack of work in our hometown my husband and I are planning to move 6 hours away in a different state where my brother-in-law lives. Hopefully, we will find more jobs there. Or at least one good one. But the when is still so up in the air! We are thinking April? But that depends on so many things. It’s so hard not knowing where we will be next month!

God bless you, Jocelyn. I understand that confusion so well. After this post, Bill and I were trying to estimate how long we could live in our present condition without having to consider something like foreclosure. We just have no idea. I think things will be clearer for us with each week.
I pray that God would guide your family and that your move would result in a great job and a better situation!
Jocelyn says
Thank you so much! I’ve been keeping your family in prayers because I really understand!

More times than I can count!!! Guess that’s where the whole “walk by Faith and not by Sight” comes in!
He only gives you the Manna you need for today, never extra, it only spoils and gets filled with maggots, always JUST enough JUST in the nick of time! 🙂
Proud of you! Hugs, T

Eeeewwww! Maggots! Ha, ha, ha…
You are so right. TODAY… we have enough for today.

Definitely have been there and am there with you now! I continue to pray for you and your family during this time. I am seeing amazing and unimagined provision for our family, and I’m glad to see that He’s doing the same for you. Why are we surprised? 😉
Penny says
Seriously. LOL God has never let us down and continues to provide. Praying that He will rain on you with unexpected blessings!
