DIY Elegant Winter Centerpiece

Share & Help Me Grow

The holidays are such a wonderful time to enjoy delicious food, close friends and family, and beautiful decorations. No place brings them all together like our dining room table, which is why it is important to give it the attention it deserves. While our tables are usually covered in food, it’s always nice if we can leave a little room for a beautiful centerpiece, especially one that brings an element of nature.

An easy but elegant DIY winter centerpiece using items you probably already have. Super frugal way to decorate for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Eve.

This centerpiece was fun because the main component (twigs) were free! While we were at the park one day, these perfectly curved twigs were all over the ground. I grabbed a bunch knowing that I’d find a great use for them someday.

First, I cleaned and dried them well. Then, I painted them white with acrylic paint. You could use spray paint but when it’s this cold, it’s harder to do spray painting projects. Painting them with a brush actually gave it a scratchy, more natural look anyway.

Then I just painted the tips of the sticks metallic silver to give it a fun little modern pop of color.
I wanted to add a few votives to give the table some light. I just used plain glass votives and removed the candle. I dipped the rim into a shallow bowl of glue.

Then I immediately dipped it into a shallow bowl of sparkles.

Once everything was dry, I took my twigs and intertwined them in the center of the table.

As you can see I just placed my votives throughout the arrangement and that was it.

Important: As with any candle or open flame, please use caution when lit and never leave burning candles unattended.
Happy Holidays.

Hi! I'm Tabitha! But, I bet you expected someone named "Penny." Long story made short, Penny is the coupon binder I started in 2010 when we were totally broke... as in BANKRUPT. Now, as a mom of five, I make 6-figures a year working at home and share ways to help you move from penny to profit while you raise a family with sense on cents.
