Easy Italian Dessert: McCafé Affogato

Share & Help Me Grow

Collective Bias disclosure

#McCafeMyWay #CollectiveBias

After a long, stressful week, you need a little treat. Something to put a pep in your step and a smile on your face… and maybe a whipped cream mustache. This easy Italian dessert makes a special dessert for company or just a way to celebrate some “me time.” Featuring McCafé Premium Roast Coffee, you will feel like you are being swept away to a quaint coffee shop along a cobblestone street.

Have you ever had one of those weeks where you just felt completely beaten by Friday? Then, you remember all the things you forgot to do?

Yup. I’m totally there.

Plus, my oldest child woke me before 5 AM to tell me that the cat was in her bed. “Okay… and you want me to do what after only five hours of sleep and the insane week that I’ve had?”

I did not actually say that. I *might* have thought it. But, I rolled out of bed like a dutiful mother, ousted the cat from the girl’s room, and headed toward the coffee.

Thank goodness I had filled my basket at Walmart with McCafé coffee pods.

Seriously, McCafé has made my week a little easier. Just pulling open the coffee pod drawer makes me smile, even after a sleepless night.

With 8 flavors to choose from, my husband and I both have lots of options. I prefer the medium blend McCafé Premium Roast while he prefers the bolder, darker McCafé French Roast. McCafé also comes in premium bags if you prefer to brew with a french press or percolator.

For me, I prefer the almost-instant satisfaction of smelling the aromatic blend of 100% Arabica Beans as a gorgeous stream of delicious goodness pours into my cup.

Yes, I am waxing poetic here, but I’ve been living for coffee lately.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner… and dessert.

Dessert? Oh yes!

This easy Italian dessert will make your toes curl. The decadence of ice cream and coffee together…

It’s perfection.

The recipe could not be simpler. So, even if you are hosting a dinner party and have slaved in the kitchen all day preparing lasagna, breadsticks, and the perfect salad, you can have dessert ready in seconds.

But don’t wait for company. After the week we’ve had, you and I deserve a cup of McCafé today.

Ingredients Method

Ingredients

  • 2 scoops ice cream I used vanilla but caramel or chocolate would be divine. Maybe even mint.
  • 1 8 ounce cup brewed McCafé French Roast
  • 5 caramel candies
  • about 2 teaspoons water
  • Whipped cream

Method

  1. Melt caramels and water together in the microwave, stirring at 30 second intervals until melted and creamy. Cool while you brew the coffee.
  2. Place ice cream into a coffee cup or mug.
  3. Pour slightly cooled coffee over the ice cream.
  4. Top with whipped cream and a drizzle of caramel sauce.

What a delicious way to spend a little “me time” after a long week! I love that McCafé comes in pods now… perfect for those super early mornings when I know our old coffee maker would wake the entire house! #client

Oh my gosh, Stephanie! You just reminded me of my husband’s old coffee maker that would sound like a rocket taking off. LOL Who needed an alarm clock?
