I am really enjoying our reading club and I hope that if you are currently reading or have read Eat That Frog!: 21 Great Ways to Stop Procrastinating and Get More Done in Less Time, that you will join in our conversation by leaving comments.
Now… How are you doing? Are you eating your frogs each day? Have you started thinking on paper or written a list of ten goals for this year like recommended in Chapter One? Remember, you are supposed to write these goals as if you have already accomplished them.
I made my list. Some of you may have seen these before.
- I have lost 50 pounds.
- I have published an eBook.
- I make $150 a month consistently from blog affiliate relationships (advertising).
- I have guest posted for three BIG blogs.
- I have attended a blog conference.
- I have not said anything negative in social media.
- I have created a home organization binder.
- I have an organized home.
- I have created an online store and affiliate sales program.
- I have read 12 new books.
Now, on to Chapter Two ~ Plan Every Day in Advance
I would often lay in bed and make a mental list of everything I needed to do the next day but I would rarely commit it to paper. Wow. That one little step has made a huge difference, and I do this nightly.
In the morning, I review my list and choose which items will have the greatest impact on my day. Those are the items I attack first… and I do mean as quickly as I can… with the first task being the one I want to avoid the most.
As I work through my day, I try to stick with Mr. Tracy’s recommendation:
Always work from a list. When something new comes up, add it tot he list before you do it.
Now, do I have multiple lists like he suggests? No. I just think that is a bit over the top. I have my list of goals for the year and a master list of things I want done in the back of my spiral notebook. I move items from the master list to my daily list, the one that I make each night, if I have nothing else pressing. I refer to my master list frequently because I want it to be a work in progress and not just a bunch of overlooked hopes.
