Have you ever tried to get your child to do something they did not want to do?
Forcing a reluctant child to do the seemingly impossible can be a daily struggle in our home and often, I will try to find a book to use as an illustration or encouragement to prompt my child. I have been able to find books on just about every topic but… what if you needed to convince your daughter to wear glasses?
For Your Princess Who Needs Glasses
Laura Hertzfeld Katz contacted me about her book, The Princess Who Wore Glasses, and I swooned. From just looking at her website, I was excited.
As soon as the book arrived, I instantly had a crowd near my feet. Lira decided that she would be the designated reader for everyone and so they all cuddled close together on the couch. (You can’t really see her, but Ariary is behind the other three children.)
When I could finally wrestle the book away from the kiddos, I was thrilled by the highly detailed pictures. Laura has told me the young man who illustrated the book was a 12 year old (at that time) homeschooled student. (Score one for the homeschoolers!)
Truly, each page is filled with amazing illustrations!
In the encounter with the eye doctor, he is portrayed as a wizard so if you are apprehensive about such, be aware… but seriously, what little girl wouldn’t want to wear a pair of MAGICAL eyeglasses?
Whether you have a princess who needs glasses or just want an adorable book to add to your home library, The Princess Who Wore Glasses by Laura Hertzfeld Katz would be a lovely addition… or even a perfect gift!
