December can be an expensive month for groceries. Produce prices start to rise as the season changes, and if you are big into Christmas candies or special parties, your food budget requires more than it normally would. That is why I turned to my stockpile this month and really thought about what I could do with what I already had. To fill in the missing pieces, I looked at basic staples like beans, rice, canned tomatoes, and basic baking products for french bread, cinnamon rolls, and biscuits.
You will notice that my menus for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve have yet to be determined announced. Those will come in a later post.
