Ever feel like your kids are rolling their eyes when you say the word “math?” Chances are, it is more than just a feeling.
Franc loves math but hates to sit and DO math. He would rather add up his score at Super Paper Mario than sit at the table and complete worksheets. So, last week when I announced it was time for math, he gave me that look and I handed him a pack of dice. Huh?
Rolling the dice made math an ACTIVE-ity and he loved it.
For Addition
Roll the dice. Write one number in each space. Add the two number together.
For Subtraction
Roll the dice. Place the larger number in the first space and the smaller number in the second space. Subtract.

Math Dice was a nice little activity. DD did the addition page easy peasy, the subtraction page required reminding that she is doing subtraction or “take away” and a few situational examples. Dice work great as number generators.
