The Lunch Box Station and Free Printable Peanuts Themed Lunch Box Notes

Share & Help Me Grow

Collective Bias disclosure

#HorizonLunch #CollectiveBias

For as long as I can remember, The Peanuts Gang has been a part of my life. Now, I get to share these lovable characters with my children by sending them to school with fun Peanuts-themed free lunch box notes.

I am not a morning person. Getting up and needing to pack lunch boxes and prepare breakfast for four hungry (and way too excited) kids makes me into a real grump. I hate being a grump… especially first thing in the morning when my children are getting ready for school.

In order to make my mornings as easy as possible (and to keep the grumpys far away), I had to establish a simple routine and lunch box station.

As soon as I walk into the kitchen each morning, I can walk up to the counter and begin preparing lunches because I have a designated spot ready for me to mindlessly pack lunch boxes. No effort required.

In the cabinet, I keep a container packed with straws, napkins, plastic sandwich bags, and lunch box notes. The napkins are often left over from birthday parties but the lunch box notes I create myself to make my children’s favorite characters.

This month, we are celebrating the release of The Peanuts Movie on November 6th with lunch box notes adorned by the lovable Peanuts Gang.

As for the food, the cabinet shelves are packed with protein-packed options making my choices easy. I hate the idea of my children having hungry tummies while at school so I am always on the hunt for ways to sneak in extra protein.

Each time I am going to Walmart, I make sure I have a stock of favorites like raisins, trail mix, and Horizon® Sandwich Crackers and Squeeze Pouches.

Horizon® Squeeze Pouches contain 5 grams of protein per pouch and are an excellent source of calcium. I love Horizon® products because I know they make their foods with ingredients I can trust.

Plus, right now the Horizon® Squeeze Pouches and Sandwich Crackers boast the adorable Peanuts characters. That fits perfectly with our theme.

Back on the counter, I have a selection of fresh fruit (within easy reach for snack time too.)

The only thing I have to walk to prepare is vegetables and milk from the refrigerator. Conveniently, I have our Reduce bottles on top of the refrigerator so it becomes one stop for this sleepy mommy.

Since I do not want you to think that I only pack lunch boxes with convenience foods, I have to tell you that I have found an easy way to balance lunch box nutrition.

I always include fresh produce in the lunch boxes as well as an entree like chicken nuggets, hotdogs, sandwiches with turkey, peanut butter, or ham, or leftover spaghetti.

The Sistema containers are nice and flat so I can fit everything inside a lunch box including a small container of ketchup. (Can I admit that the smell of ketchup in the morning makes me ill?)

Once the lunch box is packed, I top everything with a napkin, straw, and Peanuts-themed lunch box note. I want my message to be the first thing the children see because regardless of how grumpy I *might* have been when they first saw me, I need them to know that I love them very much.

About Tabitha

Hi! I'm Tabitha! But, I bet you expected someone named "Penny." Long story made short, Penny is the coupon binder I started in 2010 when we were totally broke... as in BANKRUPT. Now, as a mom of five, I make 6-figures a year working at home and share ways to help you move from penny to profit while you raise a family with sense on cents.
