Last year, I read through two books that really impacted my view of the holidays.
In previous years, I have struggled with being gracious and focused through Thanksgiving and Christmas. Something about getting everyone the right gift and dealing with the added stress on our budget was just too much.
Then, I just happened upon two different books and felt my heart crack open. For the first time in a very long time, maybe even ever, I felt the holidays in my heart.
So, if you are struggling with having a place to focus, I highly recommend Living with Less: The Upside of Downsizing Your Life and Under the Overpass: A Journey of Faith on the Streets of America. (I actually wrote a review for Under the Overpass if you want to read it.)
