Often, I find myself needing a quick treat to take to a party, but I want to be sensitive to the dietary needs of other guests… because I know what it is like to be at a party and have nothing you can eat. That’s why I am keeping the ingredients for this luscious Gluten Free Strawberry Brownie Tart recipe in my pantry.
Spring means time with family in the beautiful outdoors. Cookouts, family celebrations, Mother’s Day!
I enjoy Mother’s Day. We grab sandwiches on the way home from church and snack during the evening to keep me out of the kitchen. The relaxing day is filled with giggles and cuddles.
I would be happy just like that. But my husband has even more planned to spoil me. I think he is carrying around a little guilt fromValentine’s Day because he… how shall I say it? Failed miserably.
It happens. I still love him. He is super supportive of everything I do and an amazing dad to our children. I would be stupid to ever take him for granted! But he knows I was disappointed.
Imagine my delight to see him in the kitchen cooking with my kids?!
This gluten free tart is simple enough that a guy who can barely boil water can bake it with delicious results because it starts with a gluten free baking mix you can purchase at Walmart.
How to Make the Gluten Free Brownie Tart
Whatever your plans this spring, makes sure to take this Gluten Free Strawberry Brownie Tart with you!
Start with the Pillsbury Gluten Free Brownie Mix and a tart pan sprayed generously with non-stick cooking spray.
To keep the brownie from sticking to the pan and breaking into pieces, I recommend cutting a circle of parchment paper for the middle of the pan and then spraying the top of the paper with additional non-stick cooking spray.
Tart pans can be very stubborn!
No tart pan? NO PROBLEM! You can create this gluten free brownie tart as a layered dessert in a regular 9 x 12 or 8 x 8 brownie pan.
Bake in a preheated oven but watch closely when you begin to smell the brownie. Since you might be using a different size pan, your baking time will vary but you can use the suggested times on the package as a starting place.
While the brownie bakes, you can whip together the creamy filling and slice strawberries.
If you need to refrigerate the Gluten Free Strawberry Brownie Tart overnight, cover the dessert loosely after the chocolate drizzle has hardened.

Gluten Free Strawberry Brownie Tart
Ingredients
- 1 15.5 ounce box Pillsbury Gluten Free Chocolate Fudge Brownie Mix and ingredients required for making the brownies (egg, oil, water)
- 1 8 ounce package cream cheese (1/3 fat works well), room temperature
- 1 8 ounce tub frozen whipped topping, thawed
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup of semi-sweet chocolate
- 8 ounces strawberries or berry of your choice
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325 degrees OR 350 degrees, depending on the size and color of your pan. (See the gluten free brownie mix package for details.)
- Prepare the brownie mix according to package directions.
- Pour batter into the pan, spreading evenly. Tap the pan against the counter to allow the brownie batter to settle into the grooves of the tart pan.
- While the brownie bakes, mix together cream cheese and powdered sugar. Once blended well, fold in one large scoop of whipped topping first and then the remainder to keep the mixture light and fluffy.
- Cool the brownie slightly before removing from the pan and then allow the tart to cool completely.
- Spoon your cream cheese mixture over the brownie and smooth evenly.
- Top with sliced strawberries (or fruit of your choice).
- Melt semi-sweet chocolate in the microwave, stirring after 20 second increments to avoid over-heating.
- Drizzle the chocolate over the sliced strawberries and refrigerate until ready to serve.
