Good Morning! (How We Do Circle Time)

Share & Help Me Grow

Our homeschool routine is working very well. Before we start school each day, we have Circle Time.

First, the children get their tickets for doing their morning chores. The first person finished with their chores gets two tickets. Everyone else gets one. If they have not finished their chores by 9 AM when school begins, they do not get any tickets. When they finish their curriculum workboxes, they must finish their chores instead of getting to do fun workboxes.

Next, we look at the calendar and the weather. Sometimes, we will sing the Days of the Week Song or the Months of the Year Song.

Then, we form our circle to have a daily devotional. I like to use Little Visits with Godhomeschool morning circle timefor our devotion because it has a Scripture, corresponding story, and comprehension questions.

After the devotional, we pray together.

Following prayer, we use the verse of the week and song from Raising Rock Stars by 1+1+1=1.

This is really my most special time with the children all day. I love watching them worship through song and hearing them pray.

Do you have a morning routine?

About Tabitha

Hi! I'm Tabitha! But, I bet you expected someone named "Penny." Long story made short, Penny is the coupon binder I started in 2010 when we were totally broke... as in BANKRUPT. Now, as a mom of five, I make 6-figures a year working at home and share ways to help you move from penny to profit while you raise a family with sense on cents.

Thanks so much for sharing! I don’t have an official HS morning routine and desperately need one. You have some great ideas here!
