Have a wiggly worm in your home? I have four. Five if you count my husband.
Yes, I am surrounded by attention deficit problems and since so many parents are considering the option of pulling their ADD/ADHD children out of public school to home educate, I wanted to share what we have found that works for us.
If you are homeschooling a child with ADD or ADHD, these resources will help you think creatively while educating your highly distractible child.
Learning Style
First, make sure you understand the difference between ADD and ADHD. I cannot believe I did not figure this out sooner! But understanding which your child has will help you know how to teach him or her.
Also, do you know your child’s learning style? There are 8 types of kids… 8 types of learners. Which one is your child?
I recommend the Parent’s Playbook for Learning by Jen Lilienstein. This book changed how I taught my children. Even more, I learned how to relate to them as a parent.
