How to Save Money with Subscribe & Save

Having four children ages 9 and under, I avoid going to the store as much as possible so I do as much of our shopping through the internet as possible. Over the past several years, I have spent so much time shopping online that I feel I could win an Olympic event… The Internet Shop-tathylon or something like that.

As I have sought to save as much as possible, I have discovered a few resources that really explode my savings online and today, I am sharing my top TWO favorites with you!

Saving money with Amazon’s Subscribe and Save

The majority of our shopping is done through Amazon. You might not realize it, but Amazon also offers coupons, free shipping, and groceries. Oh yes, they do!

Many of our household grocery items are purchased at Amazon with Subscribe and Save. When you become a subscriber of certain items, you can schedule to have them delivered at a frequency that matches how often your family uses those products. If you plan correctly, you will never run out of those necessities. But, the real savings comes with the additional discount you receive as a subscriber. Not only do you get a low price for purchasing in bulk, you can save up to an additional 20% through the Subscribe and Save program.

Before my Subscribe and Save order processes each month, I double-check the current coupons at Amazon to make sure I am saving the most money possible. And, if I have Amazon gift cards available, I can even get groceries for FREE.

What do we purchase using Amazon’s Subscribe and Save?

Most of our basics come from Amazon but also purchase the items where we are brand-specific. I know that I could sometimes save a little more on personal products if we were not inclined to use a particular brand, but with skin sensitivities and allergies, I have to be careful not to experiment too much.

Have you heard of Swagbucks?

I remember when I first heard about Swagbucksand how skeptical I was. My Dad always taught me that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. When it comes to Swagbucks, this rule does not apply.

Here is the jist of what Swagbucks is: Earn Swagbucks. Get free stuff. It’s a points-based type of system where you can exchange your points (or Swagbucks) for prizes, including gift cards.

While there are many ways to earn Swagbucks, I spend more of my time using the Swagbucks toolbar for internet searches. Randomly, I can earn Swagbucks just for doing online research as I normally would.

I also have my Swagbucksaccount connected to my Twitter and Facebook accounts so that each time I earn Swagbucks for searching, an announcement automatically posts to my social media. When I have earned enough Swagbucks(450) to cash in for an Amazon gift card ($5), I do it and stick that gift code into my Amazon account to save for whatever needs we have.
