Ideas for Making Math Fun

Share & Help Me Grow

Math can be boring. Admit it. The same facts over and over again. So, spice math up and make it more fun with these ideas:

  • Play cards. A great website found by one of our Facebook friends, Mrs. Gold’s Class, has a list of math games you can play with a deck of cards and/or a pair of dice.
  • Print out some bingo games and make drilling those facts a little less stressful and a lot more fun.
  • Open up a shop and play “store” to reinforce math concepts using money. If you have not covered the types of coins, you can just use pennies and make everything cheap.
  • Use different manipulatives each day.
  • Get busy in the kitchen. I am convinced that the best way to learn fractions is through cooking… or eating!
  • Change the format. If you normally do worksheets, move the lesson to the sidewalk with chalk. Use a dry erase board or write in sand. Mix it up.

About Tabitha

Hi! I'm Tabitha! But, I bet you expected someone named "Penny." Long story made short, Penny is the coupon binder I started in 2010 when we were totally broke... as in BANKRUPT. Now, as a mom of five, I make 6-figures a year working at home and share ways to help you move from penny to profit while you raise a family with sense on cents.
