I am back to being crafty with the #BICMerryMarking challenge and this time, I renewed an old dream of making fabulous, homemade cards for family and friends.
With a pack of 36 fine and ultra fine tip vibrantly-colored BIC Mark-It™ markers and another pack of 8 shimmering metallic colors, it is hard to choose a favorite color but I have always had a special spot for PINK and #FandangoPink is just so bright and happy. Plus, it reminds me of the movies… perfect for this idea!
I have a friend who really deserves an escape to the movies, and I plan to give her an official invitation to get away from reality for a couple of hours. You will need:
- Cardstock, cut to invitation size as well as additional cardstock pieces to create a pop-up effect
- BIC Mark-It Marker in #FandangoPink
- Liquid school glue
- Glitter
Directions: Start by making a decorative design on the cover of your card.
Sprinkle glitter all over the glue and then shake off the excess. Put the card aside to let it dry. Next, cut a circle from cardstock as well another circular design. You can use a decorative punch or just freehand it.
Then, color the larger shape with #FandangoPink and glue the smaller piece on top, allowing the bright pink to show all around. I love the floral look but for a guy, you might want to choose different shape.
Attach the entire piece to the front of your card.
For the inside, cut two small rectangles from cardstock. I decided to arrange the cards so they looked like overlapping tickets and to girlify – yes, that is totally a word – these pieces by edging them with more glitter. If you want your tickets to appear to pop up from the card, just use two slivers of cardstock. Fold the small pieces of cardstock into thirds.
Attach first one-third of each cardstock piece to your “tickets” and the final one-third to the card. Once the glitter was dry, I added the words “admit two” in the sassy Fandango Pink marker.
Your card is ready! Give it anonymously or just leave it is a special place for your friend to discover. Have you been creative this season? If not, accept the #BICMerryMarking Challenge! I’m extending this challenge specifically to:
