Minecraft Birthday Party Ideas

Have a Minecraft-lover asking for a special Minecraft-themed birthday party? I have been there and my inspiration came from Pinterest and Amazon. We had Creeper balloons and a Minecraft birthday cake, but I wish I had taken more pictures because the party went by way too fast.

Minecraft Birthday Decorations

Our birthday boy actually woke to a room full of creeper balloons. This is simple. Just blow up green balloons and use clear tape to attach squares of black construction paper to resemble a creeper face. While my balloons where not Pinterest perfect, our son loved them!

Then, we draped black and green streamers from each doorframe, creating a curtain.

The decorations were so simple but so is the game of Minecraft.

Minecraft Party Games

I decided to send the sent the children on a kind of Easter egg hunt. Finding gold foil boxes at Amazon (please note that they are tiny!), I filled them with coated chocolate candies. Using the CK Products Lump of Coal Chocolate Mold, I was able to make lumps of coal and wrapped them in plastic goody bags to protect from insects. As for diamonds, I skipped the candy and picked up the Royal Blue 25 Carat Acrylic Diamonds at Amazon. Then, I hid the gold, coal, and diamonds strategically.

In hindsight, I wish I had an adult dressed in a Steve Minecraft Box Head, a Creeper Minecraft Box Head, and an Enderman Minecraft Head. That would have boosted the fun factor tremendously.

Minecraft Birthday Cake

For the cake, I copied the ideas on my Pinterest Minecraft Board and made a Minecraft landscape from brownies, rice krispie treats and blue gelatin jigglers. However, instead of buying figures for the cake, I printed free paper Minecraft figures and did a lot of cutting and folding.
