Prior to Pinterest, I collected cookbooks to help me plan budget conscious meals. We were eating healthy but cheap with the help of these awesome books.
Even still, I like flipping pages sometimes. It might be convenient to browse Pinterest for recipes but I seem to get more done in less time with a cookbook in my hand.
These are some of my favorite cookbooks…

Long before I actually met and became friends with Erin Chase, I was a huge fan of her cookbooks. (Can you imagine how starstruck I was the first time I actually met her?)
Now, blessed to consider her a good friend, I can assure you that these recipes were tried in Erin’s kitchen and approved by her family long before they ever made the pages of a cookbook.

The America’s Test Kitchen Healthy Family Cookbook
I love America’s Test Kitchen. Back before we could afford cable, my Saturdays were often spent with the television tuned to PBS so I could watch America’s Test Kitchen and glean some new ideas as well as tips for perfecting my family’s favorite recipes.
Clean Eating for Busy Families
We went through several years where I was strict on “clean eating” and we probably should return to that. Preparing meals without boxes or cans does not have to be difficult as Clean Eating for Busy Families proves.

My children are such picky eaters but when the cookbook focuses on FAMILY I seem to have a better results finding healthy cheap dinner ideas that my kids will actually try and might enjoy.
The Biggest Loser Family Cookbook: Budget-Friendly Meals Your Whole Family Will Love
This cookbook almost did not make my list because for me, I like a cookbook to be packed with awesome recipes and not just promote a brand. However, there are some original (and delicious) ideas in The Biggest Loser Family Cookbook that you will love.
