If you were looking for my favorite things in September, they were definitely missing.
But if I had a list for September, it would have included our new tactical flashlights and camping lanterns that are helping us get through this extremely active hurricane season.
Thank goodness we are beyond the busiest part of hurricane season and headed into drier days and cooler nights… I hope.
October is always a welcomed month in our home. We love starting the series of Charlie Brown seasonal movies and spending Saturday mornings on the front porch sipping hot chocolate (kids) and coffee (adults) until the temperature rises.
Amazon Favorites
In October, I definitely could not live without my slow cookers.
Yes… that’s plural.
Slow Cooker / Crockpot
I actually own three slow cookers: a round one, an oval, and an ancient, tiny one that works perfectly for warm dips.
My oval 7 quart Crock Pot slow cooker works perfectly for a ham, chicken breast with ribs, or other large meats.
The 5 quart West Bend round slow cooker I have is an oldie but a goodie. I think I picked it up at Walmart but there is a similar Crockpot slow cooker on Amazon.
As for the mini slow cooker, you would never be able to find one like it now… unless you got lucky at Goodwill… but it is so handy on football days when I want a warm, gooey dip but don’t want to dirty an entire slow cooker to keep it hot.
Interested? You might want to check this 1 1/2 quart round Crockpot at Amazon.
Bread Machine
Recently, I picked up a bread machine. Two recent bread fails left me scratching my head and wondering if I was wasting more money than I was saving.
So, I decided to make bread making a little easier by investing in the Cuisinart Bread Maker, which makes up to a 2 pound loaf.

My goal is to use the bread machine to start the dough and then move it to a bread pan. That gives me the loaf of hand kneaded bread without the effort. I will let you know if it works out.
What Do You Meme? Family Edition
We added a new game for Family Game Night and love it!
If your children love memes, they will love matching captions to images with the game, What Do You Meme? Family Edition.

Play isn’t super long – takes about an hour with six players – but you can customize the game by deciding how many rounds you play.
3D Mask Bracket
Since our local schools are reopened for campus learning, my husband is having to wear a mask to teach. He said his words felt very muffled.
So, I did a little searching discovered these 3D Mask Brackets.
They are surprisingly comfortable and keep your masks from resting right against your lips… which might even save your lipstick if you are still wearing any.
USB Surge Protector Power Strip Extension Cord
We seem to have so many devices!
After listening to my children fussing over charging bricks and outlets, I picked up the USB Surge Protector Power Strip Mountable Extension Cord and felt tremendous relief.
If the children cannot find a brick adapter, they can plug right into the USB ports. It’s super handy and I might end up getting one for each child.
Orange Citrus Peelers
I only needed ONE citrus peeler to hang to my son but this came in a nice variety pack with several of each style.
Who knew there was this many ways to peel an orange?
It works on everything from the thin-skinned mandarin oranges to thick peeled naval oranges.
And for this price, you can place one in each lunchbox and not cry if they don’t make it home.
