Right now, I have a smallish home and four children with attention problems. While I think we have mastered organizing our homeschool in this small space, I am dreaming of the day next year when we start shopping around for a newer (and larger) home.
While I don’t know if I will ever be comfortable confining our homeschool to just one room, I definitely have been eyeballing my friends in the blogosphere and making a wishlist for one day soon.

Since I do not have an IKEA close by, I peruse their website often. So often, in fact, that the web address for the children’s storage pops up immediately when I start typing in my browser bar with the letter I.

I don’t know if it is the bright white shelving with the happy green walls or the pops of red… it just makes me happy. The window seat and colors are similar to the friendly homeschool room at Living Out His Love.
Of course, in my ultimate dreams, I will have a loft space or open area at the top of the stairs like the homeschool area at Sam’s Noggin…

Either a loft area or sunroom with lots of natural light. Hmmm… makes me happy just thinking about it.

My wish list for this year
While we are still homeschooling in our living room and dining area, I do have a few items I would love to add but I am waiting for the cash to make it happen.
While this might be an unusual item, I want to get our homeschool closet better organized with a few of these Akro-Mils Drawer Plastic Parts Storage Hardware and Craft Cabinet
Because I am adding to our All About Learning curriculum, I wanted to organize my Thirty One Organizing Tote (ironic, right?) and loved Mo’s bag at Spell Outloud so I went off her recommendation and have two of these Iris Open-Top Large File Bins

What great ideas for a “school” room! I love the Mt. Hope Chronicles the best. I think it’s because I love bookshelves and have so many of them. I like the way they are used to divide the students learning areas into little offices. I must think of ways to use this in my own home. Thanks for finding these school room pictures.
If I ever figure out how to load pictures, my classroom is not bad. Not as elegant as Clarisa’s or Jolanthe’s. We use our “Cave” for the classroom, but still use other areas of the house as well.
You can get the folder holder at Staples cheaper and use your school supply card ($10) for an additional 15% off. My card has paid for itself and more.
I too love the Ikea shelvings that everyone uses. It is not real expensive.but still on my wishlist because of the height limit in the “Cave”. I keep making my list as well and it changes as the girls get older.
I too fell in love with Carisa’s shelves from Ikea. We do not have one close to us (4 hours away 🙁 Sooooooooo my wonderful husband BUILT the shelving and we ordered the bins to go in it. It looks EXACTLY like Carisa’s and I love it. We aren’t using it for school, right now I am using it to store their creative toys so they always have access to blocks, legos, puzzles, other building sets, etc. They do not have full access to the electronic toys 😉 Love your ideas!
