My Well Planned Day Software Review

Share & Help Me Grow

I sincerely think the people of Home Educating Family are brilliant. This company strives to always be on the cutting edge of what homeschooling families need and they have created a masterpiece again!

Introducing the new My Well Planned Day software!

homeschool planning computer software

If homeschool lesson plans drive you insane, let the My Well Planned Day software help you.

With the software, you can set up each of your students and the curriculum you are using. Then, you can put in the number of assignments and let the software place those lessons on the days your student should study. So simple.

One of my favorite features of the homeschool module is that Home Educating Family has connected the curriculum to their vast collection of reviewed studies so you can use the searchable database to pull up the curriculum you are using. No need to take a picture and upload it. If you use a curriculum with which they are familiar, all of that work is done for you.

homeschoolers lesson plan computer software Home Educating Family

While I am a big supporter of lesson plans, my favorite parts of the software have nothing to do with homeschool.

My favorite things

Home Educating Family homeschool grading software organizing

  • Family Communication Center – If you have older students or practice self-directed study, the family message board can help keep your family on the same page.
  • Budgeting – Place your budget right inside the software. No need for an additional budgeting system.
  • Calendar – Have a busy family calendar? Get it together with My Well Planned Day.
  • Chores – Add chores to each child’s assignments for the day.
  • Menu – Menu planning has never been easier. Just plug in your weekly or monthly menu right into the computer.
  • Memories – Coming soon! (I need this!)
  • Projects, Shopping, To Dos – Your entire life can be combined right into the planning software.
  • Price – When you consider all the additional planners and notebooks that this will replace, the price is very affordable especially with the discount code available. (See below.)
  • Apps – Soon, you will not need to be tied to the computer to access the software because My Well Planned Day is getting mobile.

The system is so simple to use, but if you are intimidated, they have an amazing list of video tutorials to guide you through every aspect of the software.

What I don’t like

The system is still in BETA mode which means there are a few kinks that need to be adjusted. However, support is very prompt and they strive to help you work out any issues in a speedy, helpful manner. Customer service is definitely a priority with Home Educating Family.

About Tabitha

Hi! I'm Tabitha! But, I bet you expected someone named "Penny." Long story made short, Penny is the coupon binder I started in 2010 when we were totally broke... as in BANKRUPT. Now, as a mom of five, I make 6-figures a year working at home and share ways to help you move from penny to profit while you raise a family with sense on cents.

I am not sure which section of the program I would not use. Maybe that is the question you should have asked. I love this program! I believe it would be a perfect fit for our homeschool, budgeting, project planning, family meals, family life!! The thought of easily organizing and referencing in one program is WONDERFUL! WOW!

I need a calendar that has ALL of our info – homeschool info, household cleaning and other info, meal planning, budgeting, etc – it is a balancing act! I am excited that I would be able to access that info online at any of our home computers as well as my iPhone. Right now I carry around 2 binders – around the house as well as when I am out. Thanks for the giveaway!

I oohed and ahhhhed over this when it came up for Beta Testing. I waited until the very last minute, but decided it just wasn’t in the budget, especially for Beta. I love the idea. It looks very pretty and I could definitely use the help in getting my stuff organized! It’s a great giveaway and coupon. Thanks for sharing it!

HaHa! This would shut my husband up about all the strewn paper (my random thoughts) on the desk, beside my bed, in the bathroom, on the back of the couch, and on top of shelves. I could tech it up a notch! Go me, if I win 🙂 Oh I voted earlier this year on the design for this software (purple, blue flowers…tranquil to me). Between school and grocery/meal planning is where I spend most of my time–

The part I’d enjoy the most is the school planning in a more visual format than what I currently use. HST+ drives me nuts most days…but it works, and tracks what I need for High School courses for my oldest, and activities for my youngest

I love the idea of having all of my “stuff” in one place! If the lesson plans could tell me what the kids need to work on at the same time it reminds me of my “to-do’s” and what our schedule is like for the day/week, that would just be awesome!

    Hello!

I am new to homeschooling (just started our official pre-k year last month) and the planning and scheduling has been the hardest! Partially, I believe, because I am creating my own curriculum this year; I know where my DS needs to be to start our kindergarten year but he could start that now!! Anyways, this would be awesome to win & to help me getting going in the right direction. Thanks! Carol

I wanted to share this with those thinking about purchasing the online planner. I have to say, sadly, that I am not a fan. I wanted to be. We purchased the online program. However, since we were forced to start late (we are working overseas and just received our curriculum), I didn’t realize there was a technical issue which prevents us from using the online program until it was too late. I was told it was past the “30 day” mark for a refund, and no one in IT is helping us. The 30 day refund is listed in the FAQ section, and was not in any of the online receipts I received. What’s worse, they can see that we have done nothing with the program, since it is online, and customer service doesn’t seem to care. So, I am honestly not trying to “cheat the system” or anything like that. I needed help and all I have gotten is a “You can’t have a refund,” note, and that’s it. However, I guess it is a “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me,” situation. I will not buy from this company again. So, please, be careful because 50.00 is a lot to pay for something that doesn’t work. Also be aware of the 30 day refund period if you end up purchasing the product.

Are you still using MWPD? I, like you, loved this at first but after almost two full school years of trying to make this software work for me I am ready to throw in the towel. It is still not a fully functioning online planner. Have you had others share this experience? I would love to see some online reviews that are more recent than fall of 2012. Thanks for your thoughts.
