UPDATE: Home Ed Expert is no longer a free service. I am very bummed about that and apologize for any inconvenience this might cause.
Over the last few years, I have found myself wishing there was something available that would just tell me which curriculum is best for my children. I spent hours and hours (read: weeks) pouring over catalogs and webpages and reviews. My eyes would cross and my list of possibilities would grow long and I still would not have a sure feeling about anything. So, I would start over.
While it might not tell me exactly which curriculum is best for my children, Home Ed Expert certainly did help me narrow it down.
Home Ed Expert is a powerful tool developed by home schooling specialists to help you find the curricula and resources that best fit your goals and teaching style, as well as your students’ unique needs and learning styles. Our proprietary system not only leads you to the teaching and learning tools that match your situation, it also enables you to purchase those tools at a great discount with just one click. Our curriculum team is led by Cathy Duffy, noted curriculum expert and author of 100 Top Picks for Homeschool Curriculum.
The process is simple but does take a little time with the exact amount varying by the number of student profiles you need to enter. Home Ed Expert will conduct an online assessment of your learning and teaching style. Then, you will be guided through a list of questions for each of your children. This assessment will then use an algorithm to suggest which curriculum best matches your teaching style and your child’s learning style. Even if there is not a perfect match, it will give you some different options, showing what the score was for each.
Not only can you view curriculum recommendations but also the supplements and parent helps.
When I went through the assessment, I felt as if a burden was eased off my shoulders. I was given choices that I actually loved and some with which I was unfamiliar. However, using Home Ed Expert helped me narrow the field and what would have taken me a month or longer, took one weekend.

I think you will like it, Angie. The only subject that I could not get a good recommendation for was math. Oh Math! Why do you vex me so?

One thing that I think should be mentioned- you need to buy a code from HSLDA in order to use this service. It is NOT a free service.

Well, phooey!! It was such a great service that I guess that decided to monetize it. Thanks for letting me know, Heather. I will update the post.
