No Prep Activities for Kids to Do at Home

Share & Help Me Grow

Being stuck inside can cause kids to go stir crazy and make you feel like you might lose your mind as well. And, if you have to hear the words “I’m bored” or “there’s nothing to do” one more time, you very well just might.

Are you looking for activities for kids to do at home? These easy and no prep activities will keep kids busy having fun at home.

So, before you cash in your fast pass to Crazytown, check out these little to no prep activities for kids to do at home.

Paper Airplane Competitions

Flying paper airplanes can keep a kid’s attention for a long time. See who can create the neatest airplane, or whose flies the farthest. Which one can do the coolest trick?

Create a Marble Run

All you need for this one is a long cardboard box, where you can place several popsicle sticks obstacles in the way to create a mesmerizing effect for your kids as they watch their marbles running through the course. It will be interesting to see which paper cup ends up with the most marbles at the end.

Save Your Amazon Boxes

We’re not sure what it is about kids and cardboard boxes, but they love them.

My youngest son will cut apart boxes and create models, toys, mazes, and more. For younger children, give them a few crayons to decorate the inside of their space, and they will be out of your hair for a while.

Target Golf

Even kids need to brush up on their golf game (motor skills) every once in a while. For this one, you need a large box where you can create several entry holes for the ball to go in and different points labeled over each one.

Balloon Tennis

A balloon by itself can be fun for kids, but spice it up with two fly swatters and make a tennis match out of it.

Ball Pit With Slide

If you have toddlers, this one’s for you. Simply get yourself a blowup pool and fill it with plastic balls and a slide. Your kids will get a kick out of this one.

Cotton Ball Painting

If you’re tired of cleaning out paintbrushes every time your child wants to paint, try using cotton balls attached to clothespins. They make wonderful designs and you simply have to throw them out when you’re done. This is one of our favorite activities to do at home.

Make Some Slime

There’s just something so satisfying to kids about slime. See who can make the most colorful slime without getting it stuck to the carpet. Probably a good idea to keep this activity at the table.

Indoor Camping

What do you say about creating a camping experience for them in the basement? Make it extra special by bringing s’mores to the campsite.

What are your ideas for kids to do at home?

You see, there are hundreds of activities that kids can do at home to stay busy.

What are some other activities that you’d be willing to share with other desperate moms out there? What are your favorite activities for kids to do at home around your house?

About Tabitha

Hi! I'm Tabitha! But, I bet you expected someone named "Penny." Long story made short, Penny is the coupon binder I started in 2010 when we were totally broke... as in BANKRUPT. Now, as a mom of five, I make 6-figures a year working at home and share ways to help you move from penny to profit while you raise a family with sense on cents.
