Knowing Your Stores
Sometimes, I feel like I know the store’s coupon policy better than the cashier. I have even bumped into a local store manager that has twisted the corporate policy for his store into a mangled heap that no couponer would ever be able to unweave and still score a deal.
Am I bragging? No. You should feel this way too. Why? Knowing a store’s coupon policy is the foundation of getting a great deal. Without knowing how you can use coupons at your local store will keep you from being able to fully utilize the power of your coupons.
Over the next several days, we are going to work through the store policies for the major drugstore chains and supercenters. I will give you some information on the policies for major grocery stores but I have to give a HUGE disclaimer. Store policies can change and may vary state to state and even street to street. Check with your store before assuming this policy meets the manager’s instructions to the cashiers.
