OCW: Day Sixteen ~ CVS Coupon Policy

Share & Help Me Grow

If you missed any of the posts from the Online Coupon Workshop, please visit the Online Coupon Workshop page under the Welcome Tab at the top of the page. If you missed yesterday’s lesson on the coupon policy at Walgreens, you can find it HERE.

CVS

Coupon Policy:         1 manufacturer’s (MQ) per item AND 1 CVS Q per item

* May also use one $5/$25 or similar coupon per transaction (occasionally available through the coupon kiosk machine or through the weekly email)
* Allows two coupons to be used on a BOGO sale
* Must purchase TWO items to receive a BOGO discount
*Multiple transactions are accepted
* Links to Upromise.com through your store loyalty card
* Links to SavingStar through your store loyalty card
* Often offers coupons through the coupon kiosk machine for a $25 gift card when you transfer a prescription

The CVS coupon policy is not available online.

Special Savings Situations

Extra Care Bucks (ECB)

Extra Care Bucks are similar to Walgreens RRs but require a store loyalty card. You can obtain two store loyalty cards per household. These are available at the register.

Like the RRs at Walgreens, ECBs print after the transaction is complete but instead of printing as a separate catalina, they print on the bottom of your receipt.

The number of times you can work an ECB deal varies but the limit is always listed in the sales advertisement. Your eligibility for each deal will print out on the bottom of you receipt, making it easy to track.

Using multiple ECBs as payment within a single transaction is allowed and there are no requirements for balancing the number of items against the number of coupons you use.

In this example, if you spend $15 on selected products, you will receive $5 ECBs.

CVS Example

Transaction

2 Dove Lotion ($6.99) = $6.99
2 Dove Deodorants (2/$5) = $5.00
–          Use two Dove Lotion MQ for $2/1
–          Use two Dove Deodorant MQs for $1/1

Total OOP: $7.98
$5 ECB Prints for next transaction

Total OOP = $7.95
–          $5 ECBs for next trip = $2.99
80% SAVINGS!!

About Tabitha

Hi! I'm Tabitha! But, I bet you expected someone named "Penny." Long story made short, Penny is the coupon binder I started in 2010 when we were totally broke... as in BANKRUPT. Now, as a mom of five, I make 6-figures a year working at home and share ways to help you move from penny to profit while you raise a family with sense on cents.
