Power Struggle: Negotiating for ANYTHING

Share & Help Me Grow

tips for getting a lower price

Growing up, I would always join my mother and brother, rolling our eyes when it came time to make a major purchase because we knew that my father was going to give the salesman a real workout.  We were embarrassed because in the back of our minds, we just knew that this poor salesman was going to walk off his job and leave his family starving after having to deal with Dad.  But, even in my uncomfortable position of sidekick, I was learning some valuable lessons.

Satisfaction Guarantee

First, I am the customer and I deserve to walk away completely satisfied with my purchase.  My money is MY MONEY until I give it to someone else. I need to hold on to as much of it as possible… or at least get some added bonuses when I choose to spend it.

Keep Enemies Close

Next, the salesperson is not my friend.  He is an employee of the company.  No matter how sweet and friendly that person is, he or she has two things in mind: fulfilling the companies policies and his or her own self-interest.

Negotiate for Everything

And, finally, you can negotiate for absolutely anything!  I have negotiated for everything from cars to apartment rent (and now is the perfect time to negotiate for BOTH).

This week, I want to walk you through the basics of negotiation by using specific examples I have employed in my own life to save hundreds of dollars, maybe even thousands.  So, check back daily to get the latest on how you can get more for less.

About Tabitha

Hi! I'm Tabitha! But, I bet you expected someone named "Penny." Long story made short, Penny is the coupon binder I started in 2010 when we were totally broke... as in BANKRUPT. Now, as a mom of five, I make 6-figures a year working at home and share ways to help you move from penny to profit while you raise a family with sense on cents.
