Preschool Workboxes: Letter F (Find, Fish, Foot and More!)

Share & Help Me Grow

What FANTASTIC FUN we had this week. It was my FAVORITE so FAR.

F is for Find

This is such a simple activity. I printed out the F is for Foot printables from 1+1+1=1 and used one as a reference for what Ruble was looking for. Then, I handed him a box of mixed letters and let him pick out the Fs.

Honestly, this was a little harder than I thought it would be for him but I think the abundance of letters distracted him from the letter for which he was supposed to be searching.

F is for Fish

With help from Confessions of a Homeschooler’s printables, studying “f is for fish” was a breeze. He loved the puzzle and the uppercase/lowercase matching… which we still need to work on.

We also made a Fancy Foam Fish as seen on No Time for Flashcards. He loved it. Is still talking about it.

And, we had our “Dinner with F.”

I am not a seafood lover AT ALL and I hate convenience foods, but on this night I bent a little and prepared fish sticks. Not only that… for the first time in my life, I prepared french fries and fried them! Egads! Earthquakes, hurricanes and Penny is frying food. What is this world coming to?

F is for Foot

I think this was my favorite day of all for the week. Lots of feet fun… which means tickling, of course.

We did more printables from 1+1+1=1 but also traced his feet on the Magna Doodle.

I also put some finger paint in a zip top bag and let him make footprints, both his feet and the Smurf’s feet.

Other Activities This Week

Just for fun, Ruble decided to do an alphabet matching wheel. Who am I to deny him a learning activity? Instead of asking him to match lowercase to uppercase, I just gave him an uppercase set of letters to match with the uppercase wheel. (You can print these wheels at Confessions of a Homeschooler. It’s the Clothes Pin ABC Match Up.)

Also…

    • I stuffed a small backpack with all types and sizes of balls. I asked him to find the footballs.
    • We pulled out all the fire trucks and the fire station for some play time.
    • Outside, we skipped playing football due to the heat. It was all about the water hose and pretending to be firefighters.
    • You cannot talk about feet without socks so we practiced sorting our socks which helped me on laundry day.
    • For cooking fun, we used fruit to make funny faces.
    • Ruble has taken to Nemo lately and everything he did was done with Nemo under his arm or by his feet. So, we had a movie night and watched Finding Nemo.
    • I created a F Cut & Paste activity. He really loves scissors.

Want my preschool lesson plan for the letter F? I have it available on PDF including the links to all the printables and activities we did this week.

About Tabitha

Hi! I'm Tabitha! But, I bet you expected someone named "Penny." Long story made short, Penny is the coupon binder I started in 2010 when we were totally broke... as in BANKRUPT. Now, as a mom of five, I make 6-figures a year working at home and share ways to help you move from penny to profit while you raise a family with sense on cents.
