Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf Preschool Art Activity

Share & Help Me Grow

This post is part of Autumn Inspiration Week by Inspired Bloggers Network.

Even though the temperatures are still way to hot for fall, I am longing for those crisp mornings and the crackle of leaves underfoot. I was thinking about previous years and thought about this quick art activity I did with Ruble when he was younger.

Red Leaf Yellow Leaf - a fun and easy Fall art project for preschoolers

After reading Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf by Lois Ehlert, I sat with Ruble and we made a pretty autumnal tree of our own.

Needs:

  • Green construction paper
  • Brown string
  • Liquid glue
  • Green, red, yellow tissue paper cut into small squares
  • Glue stick

Form the shape of a tree trunk using the string and liquid glue. Older preschoolers can probably do this on their own while younger preschoolers will need help.

Then, have your child glue “leaves” to the tree.

What a perfect way to celebrate fall.

About Tabitha

Hi! I'm Tabitha! But, I bet you expected someone named "Penny." Long story made short, Penny is the coupon binder I started in 2010 when we were totally broke... as in BANKRUPT. Now, as a mom of five, I make 6-figures a year working at home and share ways to help you move from penny to profit while you raise a family with sense on cents.

What a cute idea! My twins just turned 3 years old and this will be a great project for them this fall. Thanks and I’ll look forward to more this week via the #InspiredBN. Be blessed!

I love this! I think we’ll do it at kids’ preschool class at co-op.
