The Human Brain Lesson

Share & Help Me Grow

This week at Science Saturday, The Homeschool Scientist and I are taking a closer look at the human nervous system as we study Exploring Creation with Human Anatomy and Physiology.

Our family spent a lot of time focusing on the details of the brain.

As a review, we watched a video from Make Me Genius while the children colored paper models of the brain from Scholatic’s Easy Make & Learn Projects: Human Body.

A video is embeded. Please click through from RSS to view.

After the video, we cut out the pieces of our models and created brain hats.

human brain lesson - looks like so much fun!

The children loved that this project included a knowledge of the brain, coloring, cutting, and gluing. For them, this was like a puzzle, art project, and science experiment, all rolled into one.

When the hats were completed, it was time to get silly as we thought about what the different parts of our brains can do.
