My children all want slippers for Christmas. How exactly can I manage that? Gathering my small herd together and traipsing into a shoe store to get their feet sized one by one. Then, creating an excuse not to make the purchases in order to keep the gifts secret.
Can you hear the whining? The crying? The begging? The threats that I have to make in order to get everyone out of the store and into the car and back to the house?
No, thank you. I’ll pass.
I have often wished there was an easy way to size my children’s feet at home. During a Striderite event on Zulily, I even printed out their sizer and ordered shoes at a steal of a price. Good thing… since none of them fit when they came in. I used the paper template incorrectly.
Then there was Squatchi
My trips to the shoe store have met their demise. No longer will I need to chase children up and down the aisles. Neither will I spend money on shoes that do not fit. Why? Because I have Squatchi.
Squatchi Children’s Foot Sizer is the home-sizing system that ensures you can measure your child’s feet with the same accuracy as the expensive sizing equipment in the stores.
Plus, if you are the sentimental type, you can mark directly on the Squatchi with a permanent marker and keep it as a growth chart keepsake.
How to use Squatchi
The Squatchi Children’s Foot Sizer is so simple to use. Place your child’s largest foot (or measure both to be safe) in the Squatchi with the heel all the way against the cup. Have your child stand up straight, placing weight on the foot. Notice the line after the biggest toe. Add 1/2 size to allow room to grow.
Then, shop with confidence.
Buy It
Squatchi Children’s Foot Sizer can be purchased from Amazon.com.
Win It
Come back during the Mommy Time Facebook Party on December 4th to enter for your chance to win a Squatchi.

shopping for shoes is usually pretty simple. we dont buy often, and we buy a lot of thrift shops.. but when we do shop for them, we use the sizers, or the “is your toe here” method. and its done. we dont spend a lot of time goofing around…

with 3 kids and feet changing CONSTANTLY my experience with kids feet and shopping is stress! and return lines!

I really need this taking my son with Autism shopping for shoes no fun he hates going. this would be great to have
Patty says
I have 4 children that I take when shopping for shoes and they are now 6 and under, so it is quite a challenge to get them all right, I usually just try to get them by myself and pray they fit 🙂
Lara V. says
I try to avoid taking them shoe shopping.
Rebecca Ray says
I try not to. I usually just guess at sizes and take back if I need to.
kathy balman says
Well I used to be a retail shoe store manager so I know how to fit shoes properly. I also dont have picky kids so our experience is always super quick and easy.
Kelli says
I frequently have to return them unless my kids are with me to try them on at the time.
Kelly says
I usually guess, then return if they don’t fit well.
Suzanne says
can be stressful

Very hit or miss. Plus I have 9 kids who sizes are always changing. The good news is someone is usually in every size or will be soon. 😉

My boys’ feet keep growing too fast! Every time I turn around we’re heading back to get new shoes.

Buying shoes is difficult. This tool would be great especially to buy shoes for kids who don’t live at your house.
Amanda says
My experience is that it stinks! lol My son has an extra wide foot so we have to get it measured either in Nordstrom or Stride Rite and they are always so busy.
Christine says
I agree with Amanda! I have 3 boys, all with extra wide feet. I do have a bunch of old shoes saved and it would be nice to have a sizer at home to know what size my youngest is needing. He never complains when the shoe is too small!
Gwenda says
I would love to win this. I usually by shoes ahead when they are clearance and sometimes the boys will find them and start wearing them before they really fit them. Then the shoes are wore out before they fit. :/
LuannaM says
this would be helpful with my four little ones! My kids are 7,6,3,1. Needless to say shoe shopping with my bunch is no picnic in the park! lol
Nicole says
I don’t like shoe shopping but my hubby is great with making sure the shoes fit our boys. Don’t know why but he has a knack for it.

This would be a wonderful thing to have with 5 children. Of course one of them is 18 and buys his own shoes now : )

After buying my daughter shoes last week, I realized she had been wearing shoes 3 sizes too small!! She is now in the adult section. I would LOVE to have one of these to keep track of what size the kids are in. Some years they grow more than one size and you’d never know unless you’re checking their feet regularly.
Lydia Hostetler says
O boy. I almost HAVE to try the shoe on the foot it will be worn on.. The pickiest child is our only daughter.. They have to fit just right, no pinching or bumps anywhere.. Even when they need to be worn in to get comfy.. She is a mess. 🙂 But her Daddy always says.. Like Mother Like Daughter.. So, she got it honestly..
Whitney C says
I don’t like it. Trying to get a three year old to tell you if they hurt her feet or a nonverbal two year old, not so fun. This tool would be amazing!
Laura says
Seems I have to have my bigger kids try them on now. I don’t know why every brand or style is sized differently. grrr. And then I usually can’t find the right size they need at that store, and have to go to a nearby store to get what we need. Invariably, we start at the “wrong” store. ha!
Faith says
I have been blessed with hand me down shoes for my kids and have yet to buy any!
Lisa says
Ugh. Shopping. Kids. Their feet grow so fast you have to measure EVERY time. This gadget would be great!
Tabitha Zehner says
I don’t buy my kids’ shoes, my mother does. She will call me up and ask what size shoes she needs to pick up and I always have to check their shoes to see what their previous sizes were. I would LOVE to have this! It would make things much easier for the shoe shopping if I did. It might eliminate returns because they don’t fit 🙂
Jessica Carlson says
ARRRGH!! And she isn’t even quite 2.75 years old yet…
Jo Ann says
This would be amazing to have! I don’t know how many times I’ve realized that my kids were wearing the wrong shoe size much later than I should have.
Jessica says
It’s awful. I quit taking them with me and they just kind of get what I pick. Fortunately, they’re still young enough to not hate me for it.
Diana K says
This would save so much time and hassle when it comes to buying new shoes for the kiddos. A saving grace is what this is!
Connie says
Shopping with 3 children is a nightmare! I usually guess, purchase and pray they fit!
Carole Ann Spear says
I don’t have little kids anymore, but I have a sense that when I ask for shoe sizes the Mom just guess, unlike when I was a kid and the shoes were radiated to see if they were the right size for us. There doesn’t seem to be any standard for the shoe makers. I know that I wear shoes in various sizes I worry about the kids. Unless they try them on it is impossible to tell.
Shannon Yeakley says
This is cool.

My son is easy to shop for. He loves shoe shopping.
