Have you seen the commercial where the busy mom dumps clothing of all colors and hues into the washing machine as her mom (or mother in law) says, “Dear, I always sorted the laundry.” Can you really stop sorting laundry with the help of Purex® No Sort™? I needed to know!
Since I was old enough to know my colors, I have been sorting laundry. My mother had a very specific policy. Denims, darks, whites, lights, towels. Growing up that way, I have tried to teach my children to sort laundry. But, more often than I would like to admit, our laundry bin looks more like…
cough… real life.
So, either Bill or I spend about 30 minutes on laundry day, digging through piles of stinky clothes, trying make some sense of it all. What? You didn’t know my husband did laundry. Oh yeah… until last week when this happened…
I very rarely buy new clothes for myself because… hello? Work from home, homeschooling mom. The only time I need to dress up is for church and blog conferences and most of the time, I wear black.
However, since I have worn the same three outfits to blogging conferences for the last two years, I invested in some pretty, trendy, colorful new outfits and wore them one time before… the color bleeding incident.
As I visited Walmart for a box of black clothing dye, I decided to look for Purex® No Sort™. I mean, I love that my husband is willing to help with the laundry and even though my new clothes are ruined, I don’t want him to feel guilty about it… well, at least not for too long.
So, I encouraged him to toss any clothes in the washing machine with the Purex® No Sort™.
Smart aleck.
After a laugh, I took over.
Ladies… this is #LaundrySimplified. No joke.
When I heard the beep, beep, beeeeeep from the washer, I went running. I just had to know if Purex® No Sort™ was my new BFF.
The first thing I noticed was the fresh scent. Not over-powering like some detergents. Just gentle and clean. The next thing? No color bleeding.
So I did a little research. Apparently, they have an “Anti-Color-Transfer Technology” that will prevent color bleeding. The colors are locked into the clothing so they do not spread, but I love their little disclaimer on the back of the bottle:
Purex® No Sort™ detergent is packed with innovation, but it can’t perform miracles, so please follow these words of advice: wash strongly colored fabrics or new pieces of clothing, especially jeans, separately at least 5 times before doing a mixed color load with Purex® No Sort™ detergent.
Do you realize what this means?
Not only can we have our pretty, trendy, colorful clothes, but we don’t have to fear those cute kid’s outfits where a rainbow of colors begs the question, “Which pile do you place it in?” Who cares!? Let the Purex® No Sort™ protect it. Her “favorite dress” can stay her favorite dress until she outgrows it.
And, how much does this bottle of AWESOME cost?
If you are like me, you are thinking that it would have to be super expensive and out of my budget. I was adding up the benefits in my head like an infomercial, but no. You will not $19.95 for a microscopic speck of solution. Honestly, you will pay NO more than you normally would for detergent.
Purex® No Sort™ is bringing the color back to my closet just when it was so close to going completely black. My budget is intact. Bill can still do the laundry. All is well with the world.
Yes. This is #LaundrySimplified. I would follow Purex® anywhere, and you should too.

Although we haven’t had too many color bleeding accidents, I love that this detergent is safe enough for husbands to use! Maybe I’ll gift a bottle to my husband for Father’s Day! #client
