Is it really November 1st? This month, my youngest son will turn 5 and my oldest daughter will be 10… and I have been feeling very old.
Despite my melancholy mood, I love November because our focus is more of intentional thankfulness. My goal for this month is to spend each day teaching my children to find something new for which to be thankful. The first few days will be easy. I can tell you want they will write. However, my suspicion is that as the days progress, they will struggle. These will be the teachable moments.
Likewise, I want to challenge myself too. I want to move beyond the obvious things and be thankful for the unnoticed blessings. If you want to join me on this journey of personal reflection, I will be posting my thoughts to Facebook, Google+, and Twitter each day. I welcome your ideas as we approach Thanksgiving.
