CLOSED: The Christmas Angel Review and GIVEAWAY

Share & Help Me Grow

A couple of weeks ago, I was chatting in our Facebook community with some readers about the Elf on the Shelf when one asked if I had heard of The Christmas Angel. I had not and was extremely curious because honestly, I feel like we put too much emphasis on Santa and our elf.

So, I clicked on over to The Christmas Angel website and was enthralled. Here is a product which is trying to redirect us back to the spirit of Christmas by drawing attention to Jesus. How amazing. How wonderful!

When you get The Christmas Angel, you will receive a gorgeous tin which does not even need wrapping. Why cover it?!

Inside, just waiting to thrill your family with new Christmas memories, is The Christmas Angel, a corresponding book, and a packet of gold glitter.

The angel doll is beautiful. Her face is just so sweet. Her body is soft and perfect for cuddles from a friend.

Now, if you are wondering what the gold glitter is for, I have to admit that this is the one thing I did not like.

In the book, the Christmas Angel promises to leave messages each day in gold dust. You are supposed to pour the glitter onto a surface and then write a message in the “dust” about a special project for the children to do that day.

My apologies. I have four little children and two cats and the idea of gold glitter everywhere was not at all appealing. However, I came up with an easy solution which maintains the integrity of the product and avoids a potential disaster.

The book does not exactly say how the Angel will leave the messages in gold dust. So, I sat down and made up our signs using glitter the old fashioned way, with glue on construction paper. By making several signs at one time, the work is done and I am not struggling to write messages each night after the children are in bed.

Of course, you could always place the glitter in a flat tray to keep it in one place… unless you have nosey pets.

I think this is going to be a priceless tradition for our family to use in conjunction with our Advent calendar and I believe your family will love this too.

I love this idea – I just recently heard about it. I’ve avoided having an elf because I just dont need one more distraction to the real meaning of Christmas. This is just perfect and fits with our family.
